Artist Fun Fact: Prehistoric armadillos this size went extinct about 10,000 years ago. I’ve known for years that I wanted to make one and was waiting to find the right material. Then I stumbled on the idea of using recycled brake pads.

How many brake pads does it take to make a giant armadillo? Eight hundred pounds worth!

Give Me a Brake

Constructed from used brake pads, this giant armadillo sculpture is an ingenious interpretation of the ancient creature's natural armor. This piece highlights the adaptability of art, reflecting the armadillo's own adaptability in nature.
