An Experience of Prehistoric Proportions

Scraposaurs is a one-of-a-kind traveling exhibit that brings the ancient world roaring back to life—through the art of recycling. Featuring 14 awe-inspiring dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures crafted entirely from scrap metal, found objects, and reclaimed materials, this exhibit celebrates both creativity and sustainability. Each sculpture transforms discarded industrial remnants into magnificent, larger-than-life creatures that blend imagination, engineering, and environmental consciousness.

At the heart of the collection stands T-Rex Evolved, an 1,800-pound, 11-foot-tall tyrant king forged from heavy industrial scrap. Nearby, the Woolly Rhino charges forward, weighing 900 pounds and composed of over 450 pounds of tie wire, while Tri-Tops, a 20-foot-long triceratops, gleams with stainless-steel horns. Stanley, an 18-foot-long stegosaurus, displays a back lined with galvanized steel plates, and a baby Spinosaurus, stretching 22 feet, captures the wonder of prehistoric youth.

The exhibit’s diversity continues with Smiley, a 500-pound Smilodon sculpted entirely from recycled rebar, and Thing, a feathery Similicaudipteryx that merges metal with motion. Scrappy Ed, a 12-foot-long Edmontonia, bristles with railroad spikes forming his armored back, while Mother of Dragons, a majestic stainless-steel pterodactyl, spreads her wings protectively over her iron chicks.

The tender side of the ancient world appears in Musk-Ox Mom and her calf, both covered in strips of recycled metal strapping, resembling their thick hair. Adding personality and charm, Little Susie, a 6-foot-tall T-Rex with ruby red glass eyes, and Jitters, an 11-foot-tall Caudipteryx made from reclaimed propane tanks, bring playful energy to the collection. Completing the prehistoric menagerie are Dragonflies, with 3-foot wingspans perched on a rebar tree, and Dino, a lovable baby dinosaur inspired by the classic Flintstones character.

Scraposaurs is more than an art exhibit—it’s a celebration of transformation, where yesterday’s discarded materials become today’s prehistoric marvels. Each sculpture invites viewers to reimagine waste as wonder, proving that creativity can breathe new life into even the most forgotten scraps of the modern world.
