Artist Fun Fact: The Ground Sloth first evolved 35 million years ago and survived in North America long enough to coexist with humans. Not bad for an animal that walks on his front knuckles and rear ankles. George has stainless-steel claws and hair made from salvaged steel banding.
George the Ground Sloth
A gentle giant from the past, George captures the essence of this ancient creature with it’s frozen pose, soft smile and recycled metal banding for hair. The use of layered scrap materials evokes the sloth's slow, deliberate movements and enduring presence.
