Artist’s Fun Fact: Dunes is a life-sized Bactrian camel (two humper) made from found objects. All my friends can pretty much claim a piece of this sculpture. The bright red pump I used for his heart, came from my neighbor Rachel. Dunes has two humps because I started with two halves of a car rim that I had put together for bending metal. I think in real life camels look a little like they’re made out of junk.

Meet the Artist!
Award-winning artist Dale Lewis, is passionate about recycling and art.
Since 2010, Dale has created nearly 150 large-scale sculptures from scrap metal and found objects at his home workshop in Hastings, MN.
When asked about his art, Dale says, "My hobby has become a full-time obsession. There's no turning back now - this is what I want to do when I grow up!"
