Artist’s Fun Fact: Patches is a life-sized hippo made from painted, salvaged steel panels, mostly from farm equipment. The pink in her mouth was a 55-gallon drum. The slow-moving vehicle sign on her back side seemed appropriate.

Award Winner! In 2018, Patches won the People’s Choice Award, was purchased by the City of Salina, KS and is on permanent display outside Smoky Hill Museum.
